Welcome to this gathering at Lugarno Peakhurst Uniting church on Sunday 14th of April 2024. We are privileged to have with us this morning Rev Robert Buchan and his wife Thea who, quite a few years ago, were members of this Congregation. Rob will be bringing us the message today and leading us in Holy Communion.
Bible Reading: Luke 24:36b-49
We come across the post resurrection Jesus, turning up at the shoreline, in an upper room, on the road and around the meal table. Each time (as in today’s reading) his physical presence is temporary, but we hear that the Holy Spirit/the Spirit of Christ will soon arrive and remain with them\us always.
For anyone who has been a Christ follower for more than five minutes will understand that the road has many twists and turns, sometimes obstacles, and obscure or absent signage. However, God is working out His divine plan and doesn’t always react to our moaning of ‘Are we there yet?’ For our part, we are ‘called to walk by faith and not by sight’ – to trust the creator and get on the path.
