Welcome to this gathering at Lugarno Peakhurst Uniting church on Sunday 23rd July 2023. Today we are going to reflect on the parable of the weeds in Matthew 13. In the text, Jesus isn’t giving us a guide to growing good wheat. He is talking about human behaviour. The teaching of the parable is clear: there will come a time when the wheat is separated from the weeds. But only God is in a position to judge which is which. In the meantime, let us focus on what God has called us to do to love all people and to witness to the amazing grace of God as shown in Jesus Christ.
