Luke 6:17-26, Discovering True Happiness

In the gospel, Jesus talked about blessing/happiness, but not in the same way you or I would talk about it. In fact, he turned our understanding of happiness upside down. In the Sermon on the Mount, for example, he made some unique and unusual statements about happiness which we know as the Beatitudes. Luke gives us a condensed version of some of those stirring statements, and today, we are going to discover true happiness based on the gospel reading from Luke 6:17-26.

When we are poor, we can trust in God to supply everything we need instead of depending on our own wealth; When we are hungry for God and His righteousness, we realize that only He can satisfy our hunger; When we are crying, we can trust in God to comfort us and ease our pain; When we think we have no friends, we have a friend in Jesus. Jesus is the friend who will never leave us. So, look to your Heavenly Father. He is the source of true happiness.  IL-WOONG.
