1 Corinthians 3: 10-20, Build Your Life on the Rock
The Bible compares life to a building (vs. 10). We are building a house and that house is our life and we are going to live in it. The Bible also warns us to build our houses wisely, because the keys are going to be handed to us and we are going to have to live with what we have created.
However, there is the good news that since we have already got a perfect foundation, we can build an outstanding life if we use the right materials (vs. 11). Our life is going to be placed on a foundation. And God’s evaluation is going to fall and if we build our life on permanent materials, we will receive a reward on the day when Jesus Christ returns (vs. 13). It is not what size work we have done, but what sort of work we have done. It is not just what we do for the Lord, but how we do what we do for the Lord and even more importantly, why we do what we do for the Lord.
The Bible is very specific that any work we do which God considers worthy, done for the right reason, in the right way is going to be rewarded. So, we have to keep in mind we are going to be rewarded not according to our success, not according to our results, but according to our labour. In other words, we are going to receive our reward according to our faithfulness to the Lord. IL-WOONG.
