“When Someone Hurts You: The Courage to Go Back”

This Sunday’s message draws on Matthew 18:15-20, in which Jesus provides clear guidance for addressing conflict within Christian community. Rather than allowing hurt to fester in silence, or airing grievances to others instead of the person concerned, we are called to approach one another directly — with honesty, humility, and grace.

Our message will explore why this kind of direct reconciliation is often so difficult, even among people who have known and loved one another for many years, and why Jesus nonetheless insists it matters. We will also reflect on his promise that wherever two or three gather in his name, he is present with them — a promise that speaks not only to our times of worship, but to the harder, more honest conversations community sometimes requires of us.

The service will also mark the beginning of the Season of Creation, as we give thanks together for God’s creation and reflect on our place within it. All are warmly invited to join us, whether in person or online.

God’s Peace,
Susi
