Acts 2:1-12, The Holy Spirit, the Holy Interpreter

On the day of Pentecost, the Spirit of God had come and was filling each one of them, all the women and men and children in the Upper room. They all began to celebrate and praise God, in lots of different languages that they’d never learnt.

When the spirit of the Lord is present there is understanding, people are enabled to communicate. It’s the Holy Spirit who helps us speak a language that can be understood and gives listeners ears that can hear. If the Holy Spirit took control of people, the world would know. That’s when the Holy Spirit steps in through Peter. And through this interpretation of and by the Holy Spirit, Peter went on to preach a great sermon of salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that three thousand souls were saved that day!

The Holy Spirit will be our own interpreter to the world if only we will let the Spirit free.

Are you ready to trust the Spirit to lead you where the Spirit will and take you to people and places where the Spirit will? You may pray for the gift of God’s Holy Spirit to be filled in you. Let it fill you and lift you and set your heart on fire for God, Amen. IL-WOONG.
