Welcome to this Sunday gathering at Lugarno Peakhurst
Uniting Church, whether you are here in person or
online on Sunday 19 March 2023. Today is the fourth
Sunday in Lent and our Lenten journey is continuing to
move steadily towards Easter; the commemoration of
the crucifixion and the wonderful good news of Jesus’
Resurrection on the third day. My message is entitled
‘That Other Religion’ and there is no doubt that for a
significant period of time sport in Australia could easily
be entitled the same name as my message ‘The fervour
with which it is played and supported could well be
equated to someone having an empowering religious
experience.
