Welcome to this gathering here at Lugarno Peakhurst Uniting church on Sunday, 21st of September 2025. Today we will look at an aspect of prayer, that we may find challenging, in chapter 2 of Paul’s 1st letter to Timothy in Ephesus.
He urges that prayers of intercession and for thanksgiving be made for all people, specifically including rulers and authorities. Think about some of our current world leaders. Think about who was the emperor when Paul wrote this. Nero. So, today we will look at Paul’s explanation for this and see if the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to why God wants us to pray these things
