Welcome to our gathering at Lugarno Peakhurst Uniting Church on Sunday, 30 August 2026. In today’s Scripture reading, the story continues from the previous verses, where Peter had a revelation from God about Jesus being the Messiah for which Peter is commended. In today’s reading, Jesus is seeking to prepare His disciples for His imminent crucifixion and subsequent resurrection and in stark contrast to what had just happened with Peter’s revelation, Jesus has to rebuke Peter for challenging Him over what Jesus said is about to happen.
