Revolutionary Kind of Love

Luke 6:27-38 is a powerful passage, where Jesus calls for radical or revolutionary kind of love and forgiveness, urging His followers to ‘Love your Enemies, do good to those who hate you and bless those who curse you,’ essentially challenging the natural human tendency to retaliate and instead mirroring God’s unconditional love by extending grace even to those who may not deserve it.

This passage emphasizes the importance of being merciful, not judging others and giving generously without expecting anything in return, ultimately living a life that reflects God’s character by actively choosing kindness and compassion towards all people, regardless of their actions towards us.

Another aspect involves forgiveness and how destructive unforgiveness will be particularly for the person holding it.

The final aspect involves giving. Love will manifest itself in our giving. Jesus opened up a new way of giving. He paid our debt before God and the Cross is His completed work enabling us to enter eternal life with Him. Our giving should become a seed that we can sow into the Kingdom.

May God’s richest Blessing be with you all, Keith
