Matthew 11:2-11, James 5:7-11

Preparing Our Hearts for Christ’s Coming

This Sunday we celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent, a season of waiting and preparing for the coming of Christ. Our readings from Matthew 11:2–11 and James 5:7–11 remind us that the Christian life often involves patient waiting – waiting for God’s timing, God’s answers, and God’s promises to unfold.

James encourages believers to be patient “until the Lord’s coming,” using the farmer who waits for the seasonal rains as an image of faithful endurance. He also points us to the prophets and to Job, whose patience revealed trust in God’s compassion and mercy. In this busy and sometimes stressful season, we are invited to pause, reflect, and ask: Am I ready for the coming of Christ? Advent calls us not only to wait, but to wait with hope, perseverance, and confidence in God’s perfect timing.  IL-WOONG.

Our Mission is to

Connect with people in Jesus;

Build each other up in faith; and to

Become like Jesus.
