John 14: 15-31 / Loving Jesus Means Living His Way
Today’s text unpacks Jesus’ powerful words to His disciples, where He ties love directly to obedience: “If you love me, keep my commands.” Jesus makes it clear that love for Him isn’t just emotional or verbal—it’s visible in how we live, especially in how we love others.
As Jesus prepares to leave His disciples, He promises they won’t be alone. He will send the Holy Spirit—the Advocate, the Spirit of truth—who will live in them, teach them, remind them of His words, and give them peace the world can’t offer. This isn’t just comfort; it’s a call to action. Jesus entrusts His mission to His followers, asking them to live by the love He modelled.
Loving Jesus isn’t optional; it’s the essence of following Him. Love shapes our purpose, calls for genuine sacrifice, and has the power to transform lives.
The call is simple but profound: if we truly love Jesus, we will live out His command to love others. When we do, His mission continues through us, and the world will know who we follow. IL-WOONG.
