Acts 2:1-6, 14, 40-47 / Living Pentecost: Teaching, Fellowship, Prayer

This week we celebrate Pentecost – the day the Church was born as the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus’ followers in wind and fire. They were transformed from a fearful, waiting group into a vibrant community of faith, filled with the Spirit and speaking boldly in many languages. From 120 believers to over 3,000 in one day, the Church began to turn the world upside down.

We reflect on three key marks of this Spirit-filled community from Acts 2: The Pentecost Church was a Learning Church – They were devoted to the apostles’ teaching, eager to understand and live out God’s word in a complex world; a Fellowship Church – They met regularly, shared meals, opened their homes, and lived joyfully and generously together; and a Praying Church – Prayer was their foundation, a daily practice that brought power, unity, and boldness.

As we remember this powerful beginning, we are called to renew our own commitment to teaching, fellowship, and prayer. May we be a church that is devoted, Spirit-led, and full of life – just like the people of Pentecost. Let us keep praying for one another, for our leaders, and for God’s guidance in all we do.  IL-WOONG.

Our Mission is to

Connect with people in Jesus;

Build each other up in faith; and to

Become like Jesus.
