Luke 19:28-40, Journey Toward the Cross

At the start of Passover, Jesus rides into the city of Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey. Large crowds gather around and follow him. People spread cloaks on the road; others spread leafy branches cut from the fields. The people shouted “Hosanna,” which means “save us.” I was wondering why people praised Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. The large crowds formed a parade to escort Jesus into Jerusalem because they experienced the miracles of Jesus as it says in verse 37, “There the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen.”

In fact, Jesus performed miracles around three dozen. All of His miracles were amazing but none was more amazing than the one reported in John 11: Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead! This overshadows everything else. This was the miracle of Jesus’ miracles. If Jesus could do this, then he could do anything. Jesus said that we can believe everything about Jesus, if we believe that Jesus raised a person from the dead. I hope through your experience of God, you may be led to journey with Jesus in this Lent season. IL-WOONG.
