Luke 8:22-25 / Encounter: People Jesus Met, Then and Now – Unexpected
This week’s message explores how unexpected moments can lead to life-changing discoveries. That theme is reflected in Luke 8:22–25, where the disciples are caught in a violent storm. Even the experienced fishermen among them are terrified. But when Jesus calms the storm, they’re left with a deeper fear and awe – realising He’s far more than just a teacher or prophet.
We’ll consider the challenge of learning to trust God, especially when life feels overwhelming. It reminds us that our story isn’t over – God is still at work, even when we can’t see it. And perhaps most importantly, it affirms that Jesus is still with us in the boat, no matter how fierce the storm.
Through both biblical and modern testimonies, we’re reminded that Jesus often shows up when we least expect Him. As we reflect, consider: What might God be saying to you today? How will you respond? IL-WOONG.
Our Mission is to
Connect with people in Jesus;
Build each other up in faith; and to
Become like Jesus.
