John 6:25-35 / The Bread of Life: Nourishment for the Soul

In John 6:25-35, Jesus presents Himself as the “Bread of Life,” emphasising that He is the essential source of spiritual nourishment and fulfillment for all who believe. The passage follows the miraculous feeding of the 5,000, where the crowd, still focused on their physical needs, seeks Jesus for more food and miracles. Jesus challenges them to look beyond their immediate desires and recognize their deeper, spiritual hunger.

He explains that while physical bread sustains life temporarily, the spiritual “bread” He offers leads to eternal life. Jesus tells the crowd, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty,” highlighting that true satisfaction and fulfillment can only be found in a relationship with Him.

The message encourages believers to prioritise their spiritual needs over material concerns, understanding that only Jesus can provide the eternal nourishment that satisfies the soul. This passage invites individuals to embrace Jesus as the source of abundant, everlasting life.  IL-WOONG.
