Fact Check:  what do Christian churches really think about same-sex marriage?

DVDs of the Week:

Machine Gun Preacher. Gerard Butler lives the role of an ex-biker-gang member and former drug-dealer who undergoes an astonishing life transformation and finds his unexpected calling as the saviour of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children in war-torn Sudan.  Based on his inspirational true story, Sam Childers was outraged by the unspeakable horrors faced by the region’s vulnerable people, especially the children, he ignores the warnings of more experienced aide workers and breaks ground for an orphanage where it’s most needed.  It also happens to be in the middle of territory controlled by a renegade militia force, the LRA – Lord’s Resistance Army, that forces children to become soldiers before they even reach their teens.

A United Kingdom.  1947.  Seretse Khama the King of Botswana, met Ruth Williams, a London office worker.  The attraction was immediate: she was captivated by his vision for a better world, he was struck by her willingness to embrace it.  They were a perfect match, yet their proposed marriage was challenged not only by their families but by the British Empire, amidst the background of apartheid in Botswana’s neighbour, South Africa, who laid down an ultimatum – either deny Scretse and Ruth’s marriage, or be denied access to South African gold and uranium.  Despite the terrible pressure they faced, Seretse and Ruth never wavered – they fought for their love against incredible odds, against an Empire they united a Kingdom.

Courageous Fathering course preview promo.   The beauty of the online ‘Courageous’ Fathering Course is that it is set up for all dads at every level. We interviewed 28 dads and experts to get their wisdom. We put it together with research and our experience. ‘Courageous’ is an entry level course compared to the Good to Great Fathering Course (I believe it to be one of the most difficult fatherhood courses in the world). Both courses are needed but we are getting increasingly more enquiries from dads in need of an accessible entry level course such as ‘Courageous’.
